I actually didn't do much. Just do what you enjoy, be truthful in your application, sincere and earnest in your essay, and hope for the best xD

Keep those grades up, and take Honors and APNov 09 2010Unknown
Keep those grades up, and take Honors and AP classes. Follow all the UC requirements, especially for San Diego. I'm in Warren College, and they have a versatile list of requirements and I like their philosophy. Do well on SAT, do some Community Service work, and write a really good essay, making it personal and honest! This is a terrific school academically and socially! If you choose another school, you'll be missing out on the best!!!

The entire UC system has a pretty straightforward admissionsNov 05 2006Unknown
The entire UC system has a pretty straightforward admissions policy, for the most part based on grades, then SAT/ACT scores, followed by your essays and extracurriculars. Although there are always exceptions, most students here had between a 3.8 and 4.8 GPA in high school and between 1800 and 2100 on the SATs. If this seems unattainable, there are also plenty here who bombed the SATs, and I've even met someone who had a 3.1, so your admittance really does depend on the overall look of your application.

I'm from out of state and honestly im notMay 29 2006Political Science
I'm from out of state and honestly im not sure how i got in. the UC's are hard to get into if your from out of state. im one of only a handful of people i know at this school not from california. i got a 1330 (old SAT), wrote pretty crappy essays, and got a 4.5 gpa in high school. I did very well in high school academically and had a ton of extracurriculars. im not sure what they were looking for because honestly its a crap shoot. a ton of people here didnt get into ucla but go into berkeley and a ton of their friends got into berkeley and didnt get into here, so it was all kind of random.
